I have no honey but am not afraid of public speaking and would be available
to do the program. Would someone be willing to share their honey? I would
be happy to sell it for you.

Hello All,

Jennifer had contacted me some time back about trying to help her out at an
event here in chapel hill this coming sunday. Turns out I will be out of town
and can not help.

She is *desperately* looking for a beekeeper to come and talk about bees with
her guests and demo and talk about honey. IF you have some for sale you can
sale there are well!! Please look at the info below. Its only about a hour
and a half. Great venue for sure as HONEY is used to start for there new
year. There is more info at the bottom.

Please pass this around and share. There is a chance you might be in the
paper as well, but the outreach is great!

Please pass along to anyone who can help! THANKS!!

cheers,
marty

Hi Marty - Thanks so much for following up. We don't have anyone yet. The
last day we texted I left for a family vacation and we got back just in time
to get my 3 kids off to a new school year! Here are the details you asked for
- Im so appreciative of your attention to this!

September 8th, 10:30 - 12, "Honey Tasting" and Bee/environment discussion.
We will be dipping apples and bread into the honey as per our Jewish New Year
tradition and tasting the honey, I envision, the way you would do a wine
tasting. The event would be at Murphey Hall on the UNC CHapel Hill Campus.

Thank you again and any ideas you have would be welcome!

Jenn

Hello all,

I am just sharing a new idea I had to help w/ the pest problem. I hope you
like it and will give it a try...and pass it along to other bee folk.

So these are used in construction as "dirt" catchers. Mostly by sheetrock and
painters, but the idea is to use them under the hive where the sticky (never
stick really) goes. OR if you use the Oil trays...just cut to fit and install
this instead and never have to fuss with oil again!

So this brand has a great size. You can cut in half then down to 22" long for
a total of 30 sheets. Just insert under the hive, making sure NO bees can get
to it and come back in a week. Pull it out, peel of the top layer and move on.

This will trap varroa and SHB in it and give you feed back about location of
cluster and how much capping's they are making (health of the hive). All good
info plus no more oil to go bad.

There is a link attached to the product, but they are available at other
retail stores and I think Sherwin Williams carries the "refill" pack. Just
look around. There is another company w/ a blue one. I like this pack cause
of its size and they are numbers so you know when its going to run out.

I hope you give it a try!!

Cheers,
Marty Hanks
