Hello all,

I am just sharing a new idea I had to help w/ the pest problem. I hope you like it and will give it a try...and pass it along to other bee folk.

So these are used in construction as "dirt" catchers. Mostly by sheetrock and painters, but the idea is to use them under the hive where the sticky (never stick really) goes. OR if you use the Oil trays...just cut to fit and install this instead and never have to fuss with oil again!

So this brand has a great size. You can cut in half then down to 22" long for a total of 30 sheets. Just insert under the hive, making sure NO bees can get to it and come back in a week. Pull it out, peel of the top layer and move on.

This will trap varroa and SHB in it and give you feed back about location of cluster and how much capping's they are making (health of the hive). All good info plus no more oil to go bad.

There is a link attached to the product, but they are available at other retail stores and I think Sherwin Williams carries the "refill" pack. Just look around. There is another company w/ a blue one. I like this pack cause of its size and they are numbers so you know when its going to run out.

I hope you give it a try!!

Cheers,
