We will look at 2 different types of small honey extractors and a solar wax melter. We will build and wire a few frames and install foundation. We will assemble a hive body. We will do an autopsy of sorts on a couple of hives.
Check the Person County Site for a run down of what we did at a similar workshop last year.
I do need to get the word out to our experienced OCBA members. It is their sharing of experiences and tips/tricks that makes these workshops click.

Just looked at the map and it is a “fer piece” to the shop in Cedar Grove from where I live. Has anyone seen an agenda of sorts regarding what will be covered? Or perhaps an instructor could give an overview. I’m just weighing potential benefits of the trip against what I already know from the textbook, Tuesday’s lecture, youtube, etc. ‘Global Heating’ is not some vague concept anymore and at some point I need to get out of cars. That said, beekeeping is obviously very important for our future.
Thanks, in advance!
