Hi Larry,

There is/was a lady who grows the red kernel English in California. Her
name is Lucienne Grunder. She is a member of the Northern Nut Growers and
sells
the kernels commercially. Yes they are red. The taste is in my opinion the
same was the average Engish walnut. I question how hardy it would be in
Indiana, but give it a try.

I like to try every kind of fruit/vegetable I can find in the store so I br=
ought one of those things home in 2003.=A0 My husband and I tried it, told =
the 3 kids that it was awesome and fed it to them.... in spite of that vali=

Absolutely. Plant approximately 500 acres of lavender in each cardinal
direction from your fruit tree and you will (probably) have little problems
with deer or rabbits.
