Potomac does very well here in TN. It ripens 1 to 2 weeks after Magness. I'm pruning mine here now and there are some minor fireblight strikes.
Potomac walls off blight pretty efficiently. Properly thinned the fruit is quite large and very sweet. Stores until Christmas in good shape. The tree grows somewhat upright but responds well to branch spreading

Does anyone have experience growing Potomac in the SE. I lost a pear
(moonglow) to blight this year and need to replace it with a desert
quality, more blight resistant variety. Potomac is one that looks like a
good candidate (fruiting time, etc) for my needs and it is available.
The Harvest Queen I ordered was not ready for this year.
