Further to your e-mail, re squirrel problem with hazelnuts, we handle a
solid state Electronic pest repeller which covers an area up to 3500 square
feet, and we use it control squirrels, mice, etc. from our nursery and also
around other nut bearing trees. As, it is solid state, it uses minimal
electricity is built for outdoor usage. Runs on about 30 cents a month for
electrical consumption. It is adjustable for sound as you live in a
suburbia area, but it does emit an ultra sound frequency which disturbs the
critters, but will not be noticeable to the human ear or pets. For further
information please contact us.

I have 30 or 40 of them going. They have a lot of wild genetics so the nuts
are fairly small and mine too 7 years even to begin bearing any nuts.... He
has an amazing research field planting greenhouse set up that is well worth
visiting.

fruits, so it might be best to answer off-list. I am in eastern MA, zone 6,
and have a lot of granite ledge. I am wondering if they might be nice for
the shrubby border between my property and the next one over. I doubt they'd
get enough light to put out much of a crop, but I have an abundance of
squirrels, so even if they did, I wouldn't harvest many. If I got a nut from
time to time, it would be fun. I was thrilled with my harvest of 3 dozen
apples this year, from a mature tree that is usually stripped by squirrels
before the fruits ripen.
