I was reviewing some spring catalogs and came across a Canadian nursery
in New Brunswick selling Bramley and Cox's Orange Pippin (among many
other varieties). They're grafted on Russian "Beautiful-Arcade"
rootstock. Technically the nursery is in the same zone as I am (Ag Can
4b). I contacted the owner and he told me they've been growing them
sucessfully there for 30 years.

Karen,
Obviously you are referring to Corn Hill Nursery - I have always been pleased with the trees I got from them. However, the Bramley tree wasn't hardy enough for my climate near Quebec and was suffering severe winter kill most years. I did get a few apples from it, but at the end I had to cut it as cankers got at it also, probably through the winter kill wounds.
I never tried Cox Orange, but Golden Nugget is doing fine here. I am surprised that you lost G.Russet at your location however - it is going well here.
And BA roots are good, they make nice and sturdy trees.
Claude
