I know all you zone 7 people would rather be discussing regular jujubes, but
I'm wondering about something I found in my local Asian grocery. This was a
bag of candied fruit labeled "Wild Sour Jujube." It tasted mostly like sugar,
since it was candied, but it also had a nice jujube-like flavor, in a smaller
fruit. I'm wondering if this is something like a crabapple compared to an
apple, smaller, sourer, and maybe easier to grow.

Google isn't telling me much, except that it might be the same as Zizyphus
spinosa, which according to this is hardy to zone 3:

The seed is medicinal, used as a sedative. I don't need a sedative, I'd just
like to grow an interesting fruit. No one says much about the fruit of this
species, so I wonder if it's the same thing.
