Does anyone know if "Flying Dragon" is a variety of Poncirus trifoliata or is it a variety of something else?
How bitter/ tart are the fruits? Can you make anything half pleasant out of the fruits? Marmalade?
I am not sure, but Edible Landscaping used to sell complex hybrids of Poncirus and Citrus, that were [supposedly] less cold hardy, but more edible.

Chris,
Check out Phil Sauber's Hardy Citrus page, linked below. He has a feature story on an edible Flying Dragon citrange, selected by one of my cyberfriends, Mr. Bonnie Childers.

There's species-type P.trifoliata on the campus of the community college, across the street from my office, that I collect fruit/seeds from from time to time. The fruits are quite fragrant, but mostly seed, with very little pulp - and what pulp is there is quite tart.
Seems like I recall Donna Hudson writing a post on making marmalade out of them, and that it was quite well-received by transplanted Brits as the closest thing to the marmalades they had grown up with in the UK.
