Thanks for the vest info.  I needed one too.  (I'm new at this).  Went on my first search this past Sunday.  Learned a lot - got some of my nerves out of the  way now -  Thank all of you for info on what to take for the horse- It was a safely executed search.  Learned wearing a helmet is a great thing with all the branches in uncut forest.  Also learned I can't get my butt up in the saddle with too much stuff on me......It was a great learning experience  for me.  My horse did great Una even when someone fired a rifle VERY  close by- he  stopped and just focused forward and waited for me to urge in on...YEAHHHH.  Thanks too for all your encouragement.

I thought this might be useful for groups that did not already have visible gear.  I would want to wear mine while searching in the woods during hunting season as well as my bay horse could be mistaken for other quarry!

Many thanks to Chris for this info.  Dana

Hello everyone!

As per the new federal mandate, this month, for emergency responders having to wear ANSI 107 compliant vests (when working near federal roadways), I have found a cost effective supplier for these vests at the 2008 Iowa EMS Association Conference The back ID panel can be ordered blank and my hometown fire chief can personalize them for us, inexpensively. The vests are fully adjustable, too!

Let me know what you think!

Chris
