Hey folks,
I just got a good look at the EquiMedic products at a recent meeting. I was considering recommending the horn bags for members of our horse team. I do think that EquiMedic products do have good value as far as the materials included for the cost. However, I ruled them out because of the design of the bags themselves.
The horn bags are just that - not pommel bags for those without horns and designed in a way that would be too difficult to retro-fit. There's a hokey little compass pinned onto the top - good for someone else, but not for me or the people I rely on when I ride. And the closures for the compartments were...velcro. I've been riding and packing for too long to rely on velcro in any horse-related setting. When things go wrong (or even just fast), I need to know that my equipment will stay where I put it. I could just see first aid equipment spread out along the trail...
The EquiMedic prices might be good enough to buy the kits and put them into other containers, I'm not sure. I want to support the company, but feel the packaging needs improvement before I spend my money on their first aid kits. I'd rather buy hay.
Just thinking that this info might be of value to someone.
Safe Trails,
Kate
