Is this a construction hard hat made to protect you from falling objects
or a riding helmet made to protect a rides head from a fall. These are
not interchangeable. I had a similar discussion about bicycle vs.
riding helmets for 4-Hers.

I called Western Hard Hat and they told me that TASCO sells a chin strap
to fit the western hardhat. He thinks it is the "universal" chin strap.
I did not check with TASCO but here is the link to the chin strap page
http://www.tasco-safety.com/hhats/hhats07.html#c

TASCO also sells their western hardhat in black, white, or tan for $26.
You can buy it direct from www.westernhardhat.com for $24.95 in black,
white, tan, or grey. It would probably be the same price when you add
the shipping for the chin strap which could be thrown in with the hard
hat if you ordered both from TASCO.

They used to make an orange helmet for CalTrans but discontinued it. If
folks wanted orange (the helicopter searches REALLY appreciate it) they
would need to make a full batch of 564 helmets.

The only problem I can see with these, is that I can't see a chin strap.

Doesn't do you much good if you fall off and the hat falls off too. Ann
