solar has to be too expensive or virtually impossible??
Yup...solar farm here since 1982.at 49 degrees north. We've always been
off-grid, large household batteries, inverter with a built in charger and
a back=up generator. But we've discussed this here before.
The beauty of being grid connected is not having to have the batteries,
inverter or generator. The bummer is that in an outage you don't have
access to your power. I still believe there should be a way for those of
you grid connected to have a shut=off so you could at least use the direct
power....eg power your efficient dc freezer at least while the sun is out,
etc.
Sora back in Paradise after a visit to Boston
in the middle of that storm. The AC power grid
never made less sense to me???
