On the farm - fine. Around us, major river flooding, bridges out, etc. Have
had worse winds in thunderstorms - this was just many hours of rain and some
wind. No thunder or lightning. Got our power back last night, so only out
about 11 hours. Sure slept better with the hoophouse inflated. The bottom
boards were getting punky so we replaced them Friday so the tie-downs held
well. Also wiggle wired the ends of the sidewalls to the endwalls. And
lowered the sidewalls so that they rolled inward so the water would run off
rather than collecting at the bottom. Now to move all the onions, garlic,
milk crates, and other paraphernalia that we stashed between rows in the
hoophouse for storage. Have a generator since power goes out frequently, but
it was at the house for freezers and sump pump, not at the hoophouse.

Birds weathered it fine. The ducks didn't mind at all. The hens stayed out
under shelters most of the day. The broiler pens stayed put and didn't
flood. A little gullying in the field from water running off the driveway
between the two sections.

We had taken tarps off our "carport" infrastructure, stashed things away
(mostly in the hoophouse), wrapped and weighted things in tarps, etc in
preparation, and it worked. Some plants are leaning over, but the outdoor
tomato trellis held (surprise!). Now on to thinning tomatoes so they dry
quickly to try to avoid late blight.
