I was also told to use the diaphram sprayers instead of the piston sprayers, as the pistons are supposed to wear out fairly fast with surround.  I've been using it with my diaphram solo sprayer all season, so far so good.

I have just bought some Surround to protect my late cuke planting.  Anyone
with good or bad experience with the Solo backpack sprayer with Surround?  I
don't want to mess up my expensive sprayer, so need to know whether Surround
will clog or wear it please?  I can go buy a cheaper 1 gallon sprayer for
the Surround if necessary.  Thank you.

Hi Beth and All,

I have been using Surround the last couple of years on eggplant, cukes,
summer squash and winter squash.  I've also been applying it with a Solo (3
gallon) backpack sprayer.  After spraying, I take the wand apart and rinse
it out throughly.  I also fill the sprayer up with water and let it flow out
the hose without the wand attached.  I didn't do this once, and it took alot
of time to "ungunk" everything : ).
