Title: Re: [Market-farming] Dry-land tomatoes
Thanks for the answer, Phil, but I may be confused – do you not water at all?  Or when do you water?  Its 100º today and I’m trying to trickle water on the tomatoes in the big garden but very frustrating.  Our summer is going well – our intern leaves to go back to France on Saturday and we’ll really miss him!  I’m going to have to train my 15 and 16 year old granddaughters to dig potatoes with me :)  I’ve wonder about you with all the flooding up there – we’d take some moisture about now!

Joan we have always had dry land tomato's because our wells won't water gardens, when two families and 50 cows, and 100 ewe's and all the kids have first go at it.  The tomato's do really taste good but I really never found any tomato that I really didn't like.  Hope your summer is going well for you and Jim, ours has been very wet and a huge amount of roads are closed due to the Missouri River flooding and I 29 is shut down for this summer, dumping a lot of Interstate traffic over on all the 2 lane roads, sometimes it takes awhile to just get on the road waiting for traffic.

Good luck this marketing year

Phil
