The wind does make me very crabby, somehow it's nice to commiserate here, since most my friends live in town and the concept of wind interrupting work is just a tad alien to them.  Boy are we disconnected from our food!

Jay, I hope your tunnels stood up to the wind.  On Wed. we had wind gusts of 50mph.  maybe better, I'm not sure, and my tunnel is still standing.  Gotta love it.  We were leaning over into the wind and it was holding us up.  Nice experiment for the kids in gravity and wind.  Marcy, I'm glad you are all ok, but how on earth did you get the truck upright again?

Can't wait to try the turnips....will hopefully get them in the ground in the next week...did I mention we got a couple inches of snow yesterday??  uuggh, way too wet to do anything yet.

Got NOTHING at all done outside yesterday and we’re all crabby.

Worse than that, a wonderful old friend brought his big old 16’ grain dump truck full of old rotted manure. He backed up to dump it, the truck was off center on the slope, it was loaded unevenly, the wind hit the side and tipped the whole thing over.   Thankfully he’s OK and none of the boys were close to the truck.  60-70 gusts.

FINALLY got the Planet Jrs going on the tractor today. We are SO late planting. Switching gears and going into tractor mode has been time consuming even though it should pay off in time…    We just went back out to work at 2 and I think we’ll actually get something done today.  One on tractor and one with the push planter following the little furrows where they buried the T-tape.

You’ll love the turnips!  As someone mentioned, they taste like apples!

I just planted some of these turnips on request, looking forward to tasting them.  We have a planting of purple globe top turnips, and I want to compare taste.  I love turnip/cabbage soup so I'm not too concerned if I get to save the purple globe top. :)

Marcy, surprised you didn't blow away yesterday!  Winds were howling up here.  How do you get anything done outside?  I just cannot.  I watered everything but that was about it.
