I've had a trial of grapes at our Research Center for 9 years. Black Rot is a disease we see on susceptible varieties, like Concord, but not on others. Sounds like you're interested in something like Concord. Fredonia might work. It's less susceptible. I like the flavor better than Concord. Clusters aren't as big but it produces a lot of them.

  Hi Folks...I live in the southern tip of Maine...zone 5. Could someone in the know recommend a purple grape or two that isn't effected by black rot. I want enough for my own use to eat out of hand...and to make jelly and jam for myself. Thanks Franklin
