Has anyone had any success in growing parsnips from transplants?

I think that both Jeavons and Coleman support the idea of transplanting root vegetables.

We've probably done something wrong with our root transplants, but, if we did, I don't have any idea of what it is that we did do wrong. (Perhaps held them too long?) The result, though, was that we usually got distorted, "corkscrewed" roots from root vegetable transplants.

I gave up after a couple of attempts.

Just the same, my recollection is that the pros endorse it.
