As I have previously reported, I have had fair luck growing spinach and
carrots together. This past season, I did a bit better and got a
higher density of carrots. The spinach is all gone and we are left
with far more carrots than we can hope to sell; we are harvesting only
what we expect to sell. Another pair of crops that have done well for
me is okra and green beans; like spinach and carrots, the green beans
are gone by the time the okra begins. This year, an unexpected good
supply of labor is allowing me to hand pull spinach, leave the carrots,
and hand plant green beans and okra. That'll be four crops on one
piece of land in one year. Around here (zone 8, central Texas), we can
get three non-overlapping sequential crops if we are diligent.
Something like spinach/coles/carrots/greens followed by
tomatoes/squash/beans/potatoes/peas/watermelon/cantaloupe followed by
tomatoes/watermelon/peas/cantaloupe. Both peppers and okra need both of
the last two time slots.

Any one else doing any interesting companion/overlapping plantings?

Hello,

Does anyone out there have a 3pt landscape rake?
What jobs do you find it useful for?

Thanks!
