I'd check with my local organic certification agency, even if I'm not certified right now. It would be a shame if the free material cost me certifiability next year, especially if the stuff is regulated, not prohibited, and all I had to do was keep careful records about where and how I've used it.

Most certifying agencies will sell a copy of their standards for $10 or $20.

Your Extension agent should be able to provide you with the contact info for certifying agencies in your locale. If he can't, complain to his boss.
