That was my biggest fear, too, when I decided to try no-till. But I've had
fewer slugs the past couple of years than I did the first year I gardened
here in Slug Country. One other thing I do is to put the shells from my
hazelnut crop in the paths and around beds where slugs have been esp.
active. The sharp edges make the slugs stay out. I don't think those slugs
like that sawdust very well--seems like you'd see a big wad of sawdust
moving verrry slowly before it just stopped dead!

Last year, I also used Sluggo, an organic slug bait (iron phosphate, I think
it is). This, too, seemed to help, although you have to use it a lot more
often than the poisonous kind.

Overall, I have a lot more complaint about the cucumber beetles the last
couple of years than I do about the slugs. This could just coincidence, but
I'm not missing those slugs at all!
