Free electronics recycling Saturday...

Rex Healthcare, FOX 50 and Creative Recycling Systems are cosponsoring an electronics recycling event this Saturday at these four locations:

*REX Healthcare Cary: 1515 SW Cary Parkway
*REX Hospital Raleigh: Blue Ridge and Macon Pond Road
*REX Wakefield: 11200 Governor Manly Way
*REX Knightdale: 6602 Knightdale Blvd.

Volunteers will accept donations of most electronic items (see list here) from 8 a.m. to noon and then ensure that they are recycled properly. Items NOT accepted are washers, dryers, refrigerators, car batteries, light bulbs or AC units.

  •   ***ELECTRONICS WILL NO LONGER BE PERMITED IN NC LANDFILLS AS OF JULY 2011***

    Working together to keep environmentally harmful end-of-life electronics out of local landfills, FOX 50, Creative Recycling Systems and Rex Healthcare are sponsoring an electronics collection event on November 13th from 8am to noon. Drop off your old electronics at one of four Rex Healthcare parking lots.

    This one day collection event is FREE to the public and is expected to divert thousands of pounds of electronics from the local solid waste stream. The collected material will be processed by Creative Recycling Systems of North Carolina. Using automated and state-of-the-art technology to responsibly handle end-of-life and surplus electronic equipment, CRS provides a true environmental solution for e-scrap. In honor of America Recycles Day, the Town of Cary’s Spruce program
will host a unique recycling event on November 13, from 9-11 a.m. at
the Garmon Operations Center. Cary residents may bring rigid plastics
and up to three boxes of pre-shredded paper or paper documents for
secure onsite shredding for proper disposal.
