How about holding Euros in a PayPal account? Apparently you can choose more than one currency, and keep an account balance in each.

I recently took payment from a European client, and it seemed like it was a painless and free conversion from Euros to US dollars. If there was a charge, I missed it. Hmm...

Nope, on reading further it looks like they charged a 2.5% spread that was "hidden" in the conversion. Details here:

Don't know how 2.5% compares to other providers, but it's gonna hurt paying it twice..
