I can tell you that if you use the tones that sound like the "the number you
have reached has been disconnected..." tones at the beginning of you
answering machine for about a month, the calls will dry up. I took them off
6 months ago and I get less than 1 call a week.

Just put them right at the beginning of you answering machine.

The DMA list is also very effective. It will keep you off the lists.
