well, I doubt we can top Dick Dale, but the Billion will be dishin' out
our best Post-Turkey-Day jam session as the featured band of Victoria
Axelrod's Open Mike Night at the South End Brewery in Raleigh next
Wednesday night, December 4th, 9pm. A chance for our Raleigh fans to
hear us closer to home!

Victoria is a well-known local folk-rock artist who has hosted this
night for quite some time - I gather it's sort of a tradition. The
"featured band" idea makes sure all who come will get to hear at least
some music that doesn't suck ;-) Plus the SouthEnd is a great place to
eat and drink! Citysearch:

Since you're talking music in local clubs that should be loads of fun,
on Wednesday Dec. 4th @ Cat's Cradle Los Straitjackets and on Saturday
Dec. 7th also @ Cat's Cradle Southern Culture on the Skids. Last Friday
I took a road trip to Atlantic Beach to a club called Ziggy's by the Sea
to see one of the most amazing guitarists to have ever walked this
earth, the inventor of instrumental surf music (and a few other musical
styles), Dick Dale. I have a feeling that it will be a very long time
before I'll see a show that can top that one.

"Hello World!"

if you are still in carrboro after the gathering next thursday and
would like to see a Hot Rockin', Action Packed Live Music Show, then
drop by GO! Studios after 9:30 p.m. to see THE MAN!! They are my
newest, most-favoritist local band (and could be yours, too!). Think
Iggy Pop and the Stooges, but fresh, new and spunky.

THE MAN have brought an element of "fun" back into the local scene!
THE MAN appreciates Rockin' for Rockin's sake!
THE MAN should make you giggle and shout like a Beatle-mad 1960's teen!
how much more convincing should it take?

THU DEC 5 - THE MAN w/ Greenhornes @ GO! Studios ($7)

the next nite they play at Local 506!
http://www.local506.com/nav_files/calendar.htm (not updated for
December)
FRI DEC 6 - THE MAN w/ Leadfoot (i think) @ Local 506 ($?)

happy holidays!!
dave ;)
