The Hobbit, Clive Barker's "Damnation Game," David Foster Wallace's "Infinite Jest," and Joyce's "Ulysses"--my ambitious summer reading list. Okay--Clive Barker isn't a big brain-taxer, but one must leave room for desert after the main course.

I just finished _Snow Crash_ and _Cryptonomicron_ by Neal Stephenson,
both are recommended if you havn't read them and I'm currently reading
_A Pirate Looks at Fifty_ by Jimmy Buffett.

It's good if you're interested in snippits of Buffett's life as he turns
50 traveling the Carribean on vacation with his family, in his airplane
(flying boat technically). It's a trip log mostly, but so far it's
pretty entertaining and good reading for the bus ride to work (short
sections). It's the first book of his I've ever read, does anyone have
any comments on either of his other books?

Next will probably a sf series _The Gap_ by Stephen Donalson, which I'll
be re-reading.
