Exactly. Some of them even think that spaming is a legal marketing
activity. Check the latest San Diego case against a couple spammers.
They thought that this was a legitimate way to promete their business.
Like sending flyers to every mailbox in the county.

I do not know, but it seems like having legitimate access to AOL
accounts is the big thing for those guys. Why?

Is there any special services like 'Buy-On-Line-AOL' that charges
directly to your credit card account? Os is it for having internet
access for free? Or is it because they like getting the latest AOL v6.0
(or whatever it is) with the "new" capabilities like graphical
emoticons?

Are they simply script kiddies that make money or what?

The same happens with one of my mail addresses, rarely used, never for
lists, surveys or newsgroups. And I still get spam there!
