Has been handed over to Verisign. Supposedly there will be no change in
policy. Anybody wanna put money on it that they will begin charging for
that soon.

IMPORTANT US DOMAIN NEWS

The Information Sciences Institute (ISI) of the University of Southern
California (USC), who has administered the US Domain (.us) since its
inception, will be transferring administration to Network Solutions,
Inc. dba VeriSign Global Registry Services, as directed by the U.S.
Department of Commerce on 28 November 2000. It is our understanding
that Verisign Global Registry Services will administer the .us domain
with no change in policies.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued a Request for Comments
(RFC) for a Request for Proposals (RFP) for "Future Management and
Administration of the US Domain". All questions and requests for
further information should be directed to the U.S. Department of
Commerce, National Telecommunications and Information Administration
(NTIA). Their web site is located at:
