Hi ibiblio-announce,

I'm writing to announce a change concerning the migration of .forward files to the re-branded Google interface. We've been working on a script to read in all .forward files on ibiblio (got that), pull out the username and forwarding address(es), stick them in XML (got that), then upload them into each newly-created account's forwarding settings on Gmail (go splat).

Matt Thomas has been going back and forth with Google's API support over the weekend. With the migration coming tomorrow morning, we feel it's safest, if slightly troublesome, to allow each of you to log in to your new Google account, click on Settings, Forwarding, and enter your desired address in the first line.

We apologize for the trouble, but we keep getting various errors from the Gmail API and are running out of time. However, setting up mail forwarding manually does allow us to verify that each account, and its respective forward(s), are still actively used and needed.

I'd also like to remind everyone that you'll need to log in to rebranded Gmail today to accept Google's terms of service before UNC switches our DNS tomorrow morning EDT. As always, if you have problems or questions, please do open up a help ticket via http://www.ibiblio.org/help/
