Nope. Well, sort of. A rez, is a rez, is a rez. The land belongs in whole to the tribe. There are a few exceptions to that rule and they are a mess legally. HOWEVER, they do not offer any privacy from the feds or the local government. If ya ain't an Indian you don't get any of the *supposed* priv's that go with it. Now, it might make it a tad bit harder for the feds or locals to get to you if they have to do jump through any hoops on the rez. you probably wouldn't get a bunch of attention paid to you but bottom line is that for a white man the white man rules apply.

Ah, you can read about just how much autonomy you have on the rez by reading up about Pine Ridge or Peltier.

Lynda, a listing for a nice piece of property (small ranch with outbuildings, etc.) --I do not desire to say where, exactly-- has this in the real estate advertisement:

"- Deeded, transferable land on the Crow Indian Reservation offers you maximum privacy from the Federal and local government "

Is this for real, do you know?
