Almost all from rural Mexico. A number of Carribbeans, but by and large
Mexicans.

They are uncommonly useful folk. They know how to handle horses, donkeys,
goats, they are a great hand at the community pig killing being very good at
all
the tasks. Many of them here are employed as loggers and saw mill hands.
All in all very, very competent people.

Although they can buy a chicken at WalMart for $1.25, instead they gladly pay
$5 or more for a live one that has some taste to it.

It appears the second generation isn't quite so praiseworthy and more's the
pity.

Yet, there seems to me to be no rush to localize or "Americanize". There's
now local radio programs in Spanish and two local Spanish newspapers complete
with grammar and spelling errors only native speakers would make.
