Hi all,

Thanks for your help. All freeTDS, unixODBC, DBD:ODBC now works.

DBD:ODBC works perfect when executing the Perl script as the same user than
the
unixODBC 'user dsn' /opt/gnu/.odbc.ini was created with, by this command:
odbcinst -i -s -f tds.datasource.template

But it doesn't work when calling the same Perl script from a Web page, as
'Web'
user on the Apache server where the script is. So I'm back in the unixODBC's
documentation http://www.unixodbc.org/doc/FreeTDS.html that says:

"Note; we have executed previous commands as root (denoted by leading '#'
character on given commands) but here we execute the command as a regular
user.
This is significant. All users of the system share FreeTDS and the ODBC
Drivers
but each user has his/her own list of DSN's (view odbcinst output for help on
registering as a system DSN available to all users). So create the DSN as the
user who is going to be using it."

and so I'm now adding this '-l' parameter to mean a 'system dsn' that all
users
can see, at least it's what I'd like to see happening ;)

odbcinst -i -s -l -f tds.datasource.template

but that doesn't seem to make the dsn available to all users. Or perhaps I
shall recompile DBD:ODBC after this?
