Thanks for pointing that out; sorry it tripped you up.

I think the simplest thing is not to set the TDS version in the sample
freetds.conf. Probably we shouldn't install it at all, but rather treat
it as a sample and install it to @datadir@ (e.g.
PREFIX/share/examples/freetds/freetds.conf). And add a man page.

Meanwhile, at least we have your cautionary tale. :-)
