Are you trying SSL with FreeTDS ?

I have

$ cat include/config.h | grep GNUTLS
#define HAVE_GNUTLS 1

Server is telling you that he has a certificate but no force encryption
flag.
Perhaps using TDS 7 would work. Current version try to do a encrypted
login but fails (probably from your log cause encryption is not
enabled).

Try with this patch
<snip>

Freddy,

I'm not using SSL with it, so that is undefined in my setup. BTW, I also upgraded from freetds-0.64.dev.20050209 to freetds-0.64.dev.20050215 and have the same behavior, just so I'm working off the newest. The patch you gave me didn't work, per se, bur it generated a lot more debugging information. Do you want this additional debugging output?

Worth noting, as soon as I changed my FreeTDS config to indicate my data source was version 7.0, it worked without fault. Is there any functionality / speed / reliability difference between using tds version 7.0 and 8.0?

I'll try building a version against GNUTLS and will report back.

Michael
