ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/ALPHA/freetds/current/freetds-release-candidate.tgz

As discussed, the above link is posted on the main FreeTDS web page, and a
small announcement can be found in News.

This candidate incorporates:

* The changes Frediano suggested last week.
* All patches posted as of this mail.

It will unpack as freetds-0.62rc2. The above URL references a symbolic
link to the true file (also available on the ibiblio ftp server, of
course): freetds-0.62rc2.tar.gz. The website's hyperlink will always
point to the latest release candidate (if extant) through the symlink.

Note that Christos's bcp patch (thanks Christos!) has been applied, too,
but I have not tested it with TDS 5.0.

As far as I can tell, the Source Forge anonCVS is back online, whatever
the Y2K+4 issues might have been.

Please, if you have an usual architecture/os/compiler, post here if you
find any problems or complaints. This is your chance to see your favorite
setup be accomodated in the imminent (eminent?) release.

I did not form a CVS branch for the release yet. My sense is that any
changes going in at this time are not release-specific.

We've had positive feedback on FreeBSD, NetBSD, HP/UX, and OS X. And, I
assume, Linux. Before finalization, I'm particularly interested in other
proprietary Unices: Solaris, Tru64, DG, AIX. You know, before they
succumb to Linux. ;-)
