Please try the latest snapshot before you start your workaround.

I think this problem was very carefully investigated over the summer and is
fixed in CVS. I think it's related to our ct-lib handling of empty result
sets or of queries that don't return results. You'll find more in the
archives on the topic.

If this is still an outstanding problem, we need to fix it before the next
release.

Right. That's because the server is sending the results correctly, but the
ct-lib (or possibly libtds) code is incorrectly interpreting the TDS stream.
