I think this may a problem related with one of the recent changes from a
static
buffer to dynamically handling memory. The code changed but the tests didn't.

The combined perl+tds binary isn't something that would normally be made
available
with the freetds library, but maybe someone can make it privately available
to you.
The risk is that the libraries (perl and system) don't match up, which is why
it
would be better to get the freetds working for you. What type of interface
did you
want to use with perl? I know that the sybperl package works (which is what
is
compiled into my perl), but I don't know that anyone has the DBI(?) module
working.
Whichever interface you want to use, will have to be put into the binary you
want.
Oh, and you will also have to have the db interface module files for the perl
library and modified appropriately. This doesn't look like it would be a
simple
project. Lets try to get your compile working and then get your perl up to
the way
you want.
