I think there is good evidence to suggest the plausiblity that Paul trained 8
men in Ephesus for the 3 years he was there. Just as Jesus trained the 12. It
was stroke of pure genius to do so.

The 8 men are mentioned in Acts 20:4... they were wtih Paul in Ephesus. We
know this from piecing together Acts with the epistles.

Paul supported those men while he was there. And I believe he sent those men
out as part of their training to Asia Minor to preach the gospel. Through
them, did the word of the Lord reach to all of Asia. And...the churches
mentioned in Rev. 1-2 were raised up at that time as a result of their
labors. (The expcetion being Laodocia which was planted by Epaphras).

Just as Jesus trained workers to take HIs place, so Paul did the same with
these 8 men. Again, a stroke of pure genius.

This to me fits best with the record.

Would love to hear anything to punch holes in it. Or if anyone has read any
scholars to confirm this.

Best,
Frank A.
