The major issue I see with a parallel distribution clause, is when
somebody publishes something under a contract that prohibits
distribution from other sites, or using other means, but uses the
CC-whatever license, that requires parallel distribution.

Currently, there are a dozen semi-successful attempts at creating
closed-wall gardens for creative content. Whilst none of these
attempts have managed to create a de facto monopoly, at least three of
the organizations behind different attempts are trying to do just
that. Most of these attempt involve filing frivolous lawsuits based on
non-patents granted precisely because the non-invention has millennia
of prior art which is also blazingly obvious to all and sundry.
