Usenet doesn't accept binaries? Are you joking? I thought most usenet traffic is binaries. :-)

The key is giving notice. A "some|no rights reserved" button linking to the appropriate license or dedication is preferred in HTML, but a plain text notice along the lines of

"This post is licensed to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution license <http://creativecommons.org/license/by/1.0/>."

ought to do the job (insert whatever license you prefer above).

No idea how doing so would impact squabbles over use of materials posted on usenet.
