Hello Nic, List.

Sounds like an interesting program :)

Obviously, you'd like to see as many attendees as possible, but do you have
any plans to webcast aspects of the conference (e.g., keynote etc.) for
those of us who won't be able to make it in person?

thanks, peter.

Hi Everyone,

We're pleased to announce that the QUT faculties of Law and Creative
Industries are presenting a conference in January entitled 'Open Content
Licensing (OCL): Cultivating the Creative Commons'.

Speakers will include:
* Professor Lawrence Lessig, Stanford University
* The Hon. Justice Ronald Sackville, Federal Court of Australia (TBC)
* Senator Kate Lundy, Labor Senator for the ACT
* Richard Neville, Social Commentator and Futurist (TBC)
* Christiane Asschenfeldt, Creative Commons, Germany
* Tom Cochrane, QUT DVC (Technology, Information & Learning Support)
* Professor Stuart Cunningham, Director of CIRAC, Creative Industries, QUT
* Professor Brian Fitzgerald, Head, QUT School of Law
* Dr Terry Cutler, Company Director of Cutler and Company Pty Ltd
* Ian Oi, Special Counsel, Blake Dawson Waldron Lawyers

The conference will be held on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 January at the
QUT Gardens Point (City) campus in Brisbane. Cost (inc GST) will be $340 for
earlybird registrations (before 2 December 2004) and $380 afterwards.

We are also hosting an optional mini-conference immediately after the main
conference, called 'Law and Computer Games: MUDS and Virtual Communities'.
We intend to highlight and discuss some of the challenging legal issues that
face interactive play and communal development of games and culture.
Hopefully we can generate some meaningful discourse about possible solutions
to the emerging legal problems that are chasing the fast moving
technological advancements.

More information is available at:
