I suggest you boot the floppy version of BL3.
That should work because it runs from a ramdisk
not from your harddrive. First, you will need
to create the xd devices:
----------------------
mknod /dev/xda b 13 0
mknod /dev/hda1 b 13 1
mknod /dev/hda2 b 13 2
----------------------
Then download the xd.o module from the BL3 site
(it's in the block directory) and insmod it.
That should enable you to format and mount your
HD.

Since your HD is only 32mb, I suggest you use
all 32mb for one Linux partition (using fdisk).
No swap partition. Then use mke2fs to format
the partition:
----------------
mke2fs /dev/xda1
----------------

Then you should be able to install BL3 to the HD:
-------------------
mount /dev/xda1 /hd
install-to-hd
-------------------

Now it gets a little tricky. In order to boot
your new installation, you will need a kernel
that is xd-capable. I suggest you temporarily
use the XT kernel from Slackware 7.1.

If you go to a Slackwar 7.1 mirror and look in
the bootdsks.144 directory, you will find an
image (xt.i) for an XT boot disk. Instructions
are in README.TXT. You do not need to create
a Slackware rootdisk (your root filesystem is
already at /dev/xda1).

Once you have your XT boot disk, insert it and
boot. When the LILO prompt appears, enter:
--------------------
mount root=/dev/xda1
--------------------
That should boot your BL3 partition. You will
probably get some error messages, but hopefully
BL3 will work.

Cheers,
Steven
