To do it on xdm, you edit:
---------------------
/etc/X11/xdm/Xservers
---------------------
That's on the computer running xdm.

The entry looks something like this:
-----------------------
192.168.x.yy:0 foreign
-----------------------
Change x.yy to the address of the BL3 computer.

Perhaps gdm is similar? Probably it's got some graphical config.
