I've got shadow.tgz installed with no problem (aside from the PATH issue
as listed in another messag which may not be due to shadow.tgz). The only
thing I've discovered through reading some of the black books and white
papers from coriolis.com (great books by the way) is that NIS and the
shadow package don't work to well with each other. Since I'm not useing
NIS (don' know anything about it in fact) I doubt that'll be a problem :)

I got ftp working with my home network accounts. It just won't let an
account log in that doesn't have a valid password (more than likely due to
security issues). So I can ftp over to my BL box with no problem from my
windows box as long as I log in with my home created account.
