It is not uncommon for the middle radical (even letters that are neither
guttural nor Resh) of a Pi'el form in BH to omit the daghesh when it is
pointed with Sheva-Nach. Such an occurrence is sometimes marked by the
Ta'am Raphe, but even that may be left out in common or oft-repeated forms.
Though it is not a Pi'el, the extremely common form va-yehi omits the
Daghesh from the Yodh. Again, typically the Raphe will be omitted over the
Yodh, but a Meteg will normally be used with the Patah of the Vav to
indicate that the following Sheva is vocal, Sheva-Na'.
