Well, my systems also run gcc-5.3 and it seems to work, but
nevertheless, I think it is sensible to provide an intermediate version
from the ancient 4.6 in stable before jumping the upgrade to 5.3 . We
have enough breakage to consider with all these incompatible libraries.
Do we want to enforce the C++ ABI update at the same time?
