Pear preserves, like wild strawberry, plum or other fruit, sweet and for
pastries or on toast or with cheese
... and as a condiment sweet/sour pickled pears with ginger (& maybe
allspice, cloves, etc.) just as good if not better than watermelon rind
pickle
pear jam is another delicacy; I would try mixing pear with wild plum for
a tart but sweet jam
