We've dried the fruit and it is a tasty
snack. Drying increases sweetness. The pucker quality
disappears. Freezing also kills the pucker or bitter. We use them
for jam - a lot like cranberry and with similar uses. Loaded with
antioxidants in addition to Lycopene. If you mow twice a year, they are
not invasive. The leaves are good forage, on a par with alfalfa due to the
nitrogen fixing quality of the plant. Bees love it, and birds feed on the
fruit all winter. Hector Black zone 6 middle tn. Juice is
tasty, but no No. 1.
