You have a hican, in this case a bitternut pecan cross.  What a pity.  Some occur naturally, some are sold as landscaping trees

 

Or, you could have C.aquatica, commonly known as ‘bitter pecan’ – or a hybrid of C.aquatica and C.illinoensis, which might well have the astringency that is not uncommon with pecan hybrids with C.aquatica or C.cordiformis(bitternut hickory)
